Mark began his career while studying for his accounting degree at Pace University by working as an intern for the audit and tax departments of Coopers & Lybrand (now known as PriceWaterhouse Coopers) located in Stamford, Connecticut. After obtaining his license as a Certified Public Accountant in 1992, he decided on a return to upstate New York. Having grown up in Livingston Manor, Oneonta was an attractive location not far from home.
